My serpent sister insisted
and spoiled
my happiness–

The wide white sky,
fountains, blue pools.
Roses, cherry trees and apple.

Airy rooms, moonlight,
sweet bread, red wine,
all night in his arms.

His unsearchable eyes.
His gentle lips.
The silence of our peculiar love.

The original of this was a piece I wrote for a performance of poems based on fairy/folk tales.
