Be on guard so that your hearts are not weighed down. . .

~Jesus of Nazareth, in Luke 21: 34

On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives. .

and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two. . .

~Zechariah 14: 4

Easy to be filled with iron and stone,

sand bags, salt jars, lead and pain.

They slip in when you’re asleep,

fill your mind, the emptinesses

in your heart. Hard to carry,

hard to release. When you can’t

sleep, go with him to that Mount,

the great crack between Earth’s

floating crusts. Stand with him,

one foot on either side.
